Gameifying social distancing
This concept project was created for the Designing for User Experiences course at CSULB, taught by Behnaz Farahi. This project took place during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our team was tasked with addressing a pain point that began during quarantine. We chose to focus on social distancing within public retail spaces.

Goal: Increase public visibility of the issue and generate a personal incentive to follow the CDC guidelines.

By introducing gameification we are hoping to add a sense of meaning, accomplishment, and ownership to the issue at hand. While we envision Safe Shop in almost any retail setting, we’ve chosen to place the device in Home Depot for this presentation.
